Daniel Klingler is an established Theatrical Wig and Makeup designer and Salon Stylist. Throughout his career, his primary goal has been to maintain a balance between his passion for beauty and theatrical design. He refers to it as “Theatrical Beauty”.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Theater and Voice) and a Masters of Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University. In 2004, he entered and won the AVEDA Natural Scholarship Competition. He holds a certificate in Cosmetology from The AVEDA Institute of Beauty and Wellness (Milwaukee, WI). In 2005, he earned his Wisconsin Instructors License. He is currently a licensed cosmetologist in Indiana. He studied wig design under Broadway wig designer Howard Leonard (The Wig Boys) and wig construction at the British Wig Academy in Eastbourne, UK.
During his time in Milwaukee, he worked at Neroli Salon and Spa, was an Instructor at the AVEDA Institute of Beauty and Wellness. He also styled editorial photo shoots for Milwaukee Magazine. In 2007, he became the Education Leader for The Academy Waukesha Paul Mitchell Partner School. He is certified in Makeup, Cutting, Color and Texture through Paul Mitchell Advanced Academy.
In 2011, after moving to Indianapolis, Daniel had a vision to incorporate his passion for theatrical makeup and wig design, beauty and education. He founded Neck Up Design, LLC. Since establishing his business, he has designed hair and makeup for dozens of theatrical productions and maintained clientele at his salon (of the same name). He has worked on Broadway in New York City and several Broadway National Tours as a member of IATSE Local 30.
